Why Rush Sigtau?

So you want to rush Sig Tau? Read on and see if this is what you had in mind.

As written by the current VP of Membership 2008
Sigma Tau Gamma was founded under six principles: Value, Learning, Leadership, Excellence, Benefit and Integrity. Through my tenure as a Sig Tau I have learned that if one of these principles is not practiced, then they all have been wasted. Learning what it truly means to be a Sig Tau is the first step in your journey.

Optimism is key through the associate period. Your Big Brothers are there to guide you through every step, but it is ultimately your responsibility to ask them for help and guidance. Being optimistic and seeing the goal in front of you and attaining the reward is perhaps the best trait I have acquired in my tenure as a Sig Tau. While the "big picture" may not always be clear to you while you are training to become a member, many of these questions will be answered to you through your Associate membership training and by the members themselves.

Our purpose is to promote the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship. These ideals can be found under our principles and are not things that can be acquired easily. They are learned beyond Associate training and are the glue that holds our fraternity together. So, joining Sig Tau is not like joining another organization on campus. Joining Sigma Tau Gamma is a lifelong dedication, before and long after graduation.

With all of this in mind, your decision to join Sigma Tau Gamma should be well thought out. If you're questioning whether fraternity life is for you, ask some current brothers about their experiences and compare them to your own. Every members choice is unique and different, but the path all leads us to the same destination - success in life and everything that we do.

Interested in joining?

Download and fill out the membership application now. Once you have it filled out, bring it by anytime before Rush Week to Room 106 in the Student Union and a member will go over it with you to make sure it is complete and also tell you the other steps required by the chapter and Cameron University to begin your fraternity experience!

Still not sure?
Click here to read an article written by Elijah "Manning" Morlett describing his experience as an associate in the Spring of 2008. Maybe his words will inspire you to become a member and join one of the GREATEST fraternities in the United States!
